Kingdom Tower
Jeddah, Saudi-Arabia

The tallest building in the world - with more than 1,000 meters above sea level - will be the Kingdom Tower in Jeddah/Saudi-Arabia. The completion of the tower is planned for 2020. The building was designed by the architectural office of Adrian Smith + Gordon Gill Architecture (Chicago). With more than 530,000 square metres distributed over 240 floors, a hotel, apartments, offices and a shopping centre are included in the concept for the tower. The tower is divided into two sections: the "Residential Tower", which reaches up to a height of 674 metres and covers the first 167 floors. Above this section follows the "Spire", which rises to a height of 963 metres from floors 168 to 240. The tip of the Kingdom Tower will be made of steel components and extend to a final height of 1,009 m.
