HALFEN HIT Insulated connections are the first product to be implemented. This product sets the standard for all Leviat brands.

The following features distinguish the Leviat BIM Plugin:

Leviat has launched a BIM Plugin for its Halfen FPA-5 Panel Anchors for concrete façades. Available from the Tekla Warehouse, the BIM Plugin enables quick and easy placing of the FPA Anchor and reduces modelling time by 50% compared to other tools.

Used to anchor concrete façade panels to a concrete structure, the Halfen FPA-5 system is available in load groups 5.0 – 56 kN and offers installers excellent adjustability in all directions. The new plugin tool allows instant detailing of this system in the BIM environment using the geometry of Tekla. The position of anchors is easily adjusted, as are the anchor dimensions to suit different cavity widths and offsets.

For decades, HALFEN serrated cast-in channels have been used in applications where 3D-load transfer needed to be verified. The previous design method was based on global resistance values according to general building authority approval. The reliable design of projects in the future according to current, state of the art calculation is guaranteed with the new ETA in combination with an up to date EN 1992-4 calculation, considering all boundary conditions relevant to the application. A new version of the software HALFEN HIT 9.40 is now available to download. The software serves as a design aid for the application of thermal balcony connections and includes comprehensive, user-friendly innovations:

• The special HIT elements HT1 to HT5 for horizontal loads longitudinal and transversal to the joint have been integrated into the software.
• New link to halfen.partcommunity.com providing 3D data models in various file formats is integrated.
• For standard wall/balcony geometry with ETICS, a thermal resistance calculation according. to ETA-18/0189 is carried out. For all HIT elements, results of λeq and ψ are shown in graph and table respectively.
• Language change on the user interface and in the printout is possible.
• The load bearing capacities of the HIT elements and the minimum and maximum load forces are graphically clearly represented. At the same time, the numerical values for the maximum and minimum load forces in the support area as well as the load bearing capacity and the percentage utilisation of the selected HIT elements are shown.

Steel structures, steel balconies, canopies or shading systems are often connected to reinforced concrete elements. Steel’s high thermal conductivity requires an efficient thermal separation in the connection to minimize thermal bridges, to reduce the higher energy consump-tion, and to prevent condensation damage to the structure.

HALFEN HIT Insulation connections for steel-to-concrete application reduce thermal bridges to a minimum with high loads transfer capability. They consist of an insulation material with a steel rebar system for reliable transfer of the loads.

The new versatile HIT-MVXL elements allow you to enjoy the sun on the balcony for longer – even when it disappears around a corner. With their huge shear load capacities, it is now also possible to realize unusual shapes. Now the whole family can even sit on the balcony together; each on their own sun lounger. Thanks to the intelligent reinforcement layout, installation of the HIT-MVXL elements is both safe and quick.

• The main slab reinforcement can be laid quickly and safely, as there are no interfering pressure bars at the bottom of the HIT-MVXL elements. Our smart, red CSBearings assume this function.
• Also on the balcony side on-site reinforcement is quickly added. The HIT bars are arranged here in one layer.
• And finally, the new HALFEN HIT-MVXL is perfectly suited for reliable transfer of bending moments and shear forces with good thermal insulation.

The new design software for HALFEN HEK precast connections is now available for download.

Conventional precast concrete connections with e.g. flexible loops or re-bent reinforcing bars must be grouted in the connection joint. They are therefore not fully load-bearing immediately after assembly.
The "dry" HALFEN HEK Precast concrete connections do not require mortaring of the connection joint and thus achieve a considerable reduction in assembly effort and time.

In order to be able to quickly and effectively calculate these approved bolted connections, HALFEN again provides one of its proven design programs.
After a minimum number of entries, the user receives either a detailed, verifiable calculation or a short printout, both with a detailed representation of the selected connection.

Using the newly developed HALFEN HDB-Z, foundations and foundation
slabs can now be reinforced even more efficiently to prevent
punching shear failure. Due to its shape, which has been specially
designed and adapted for typical load paths in foundations, and
the multiple, low-slip anchorages, the HDB-Z achieves a significant
increase in load-bearing capacity in comparison to conventional
punching shear reinforcement: 100 % higher load capacity or 40 %
less foundation height!

The HALFEN HTU Channels are ideal for simple fixing of all types of profiled metal sheets or sandwich panels – using self-tapping screws. Thanks to its innovative shape and profiling, the new, optimized generation of channels are self-anchoring and are cast completely into the concrete cover.
(Available from June 2019)

The versatile fixing system
Whether in exhibition halls, train stations and airports or other large indoor venues with fluctuating public traffic, suspension systems must be designed for maximum flexibility and adaptability. Roof and ceiling elements — beams, girders, existing building services or unevenness in the main building structure — often make installation difficult when large display screens or panels, loudspeakers or spotlights or other objects and paraphernalia need to be installed.

HALFEN VERSOGRID provides an innovative solution: The installation grid creates a level plane below concrete roofs and steel girder structures —
requires minimal time and installation work.

The individual components with a weight of only 5.5 kg/m are connected and secured without requiring any tools. The double slot profile allows load-bearing elements to be fixed under the grid using suspension ring bolts, and cable ducts or other media supply components to be fixed on top of the grid structure. Individual profile elements are easily and quickly removed and replaced. This allows necessary repairs, e.g. to media supply lines to be carried out quickly and efficiently. The large selection of RAL colours for the powder coating also ensures a unique and overall very aesthetic design.

HDB-Z - The new punching shear reinforcement for the economic design of floor slabs and single foundations according to DIBt approval Z-15.1-330
Already with the proven HDB anchor rail a higher resistance to puncture failure can be achieved. With the new HDB-Z, an even higher increase in load capacity for foundation slabs and foundations can be achieved. The up to 100 % higher load capacity compared to a foundation without punching shear reinforcement can also be used to reduce the thickness of the foundations significantly. This in turn saves excavation, concrete and construction time.

Corbels, subsequently casted corbels and rebar anchorings at end bearings

The new design software for the HALFEN HSC Stud Connector is available now. It supports the design of concrete corbels, subsequently casted corbels and the anchoring of rebars at end bearings of beams and slabs. The design calculation is based on DIN EN 1992-1-1, DIN EN 1992-1-1 / NA and the DIBt approval Z-21.8-1973. This software is a useful planning and dimensioning tool for the application of HSC anchors and includes information about the reinforcement layout of the connection. The modular design and the graphics in 2D and 3D allow a safe and professional construction of reinforced concrete structures with HSC anchors.

Up to date - With the automatic or manual "Search update" feature your software is always up to date.

Modular - The separate modules for corbels, beams and slabs provide a clear, systematic and flexible user experience.

Interactive - The interactive user guidance detects incorrect input and provides helpful hints. This reduces the processing time to a minimum.

Clear - HSC anchors and stirrups are drawn to scale. The 3D graphics can easily be zoomed, swiveled, tilted and rotated by 360°. In addition, loads and dimensions are shown in 2D-graphics. The current status of the static proofs and the geometric boundary conditions considering the de-sign rules is constantly adapted to the input. The result print out shows each calculation step.
