Emirates Stadium
London, United Kingdom

HALFEN body anchors and a version of their SUK stonework support system have been used to secure marble cladding including the club crest at Arsenal football club’s new Emirates stadium. Designed by HOK Sport architects with Sir Robert McAlpine as main contractors, the £390 million 60,000 seat
capacity stadium includes a full range of facilities for supporters. At the entrance to the diamond and club levels, specialist stone contractors Unimar Ltd were asked to install some 82m² of Italian Statuarietto marble with a bookmatched polish finish. Unimar turned to HALFEN who visited the site and subsequently
made fixing recommendations. HALFEN Body anchors were used to secure the marble panels because of the adjustability they provided on site, whilst the SUK system was adapted for the central feature stone emblazoned with the club crest. The SUK rail system allowed the load from the stone to be distributed over a number of fixings back to the block wall. Sakine Dogan, Unimar’s Project Manager says that HALFEN were very helpful throughout the project and adds: “Besides, they delivered the goods on time,
which I really appreciated.”
