BASF Technical Centre
In March 2019, BASF opened a forward-looking research center for catalyst and process development at its site in Ludwigshafen. As part of the project, the more than 60‑year‑old building was completely stripped back and modernized. The first of a total of three planned floors has already been equipped with 12 research units, along with the associated building services and infrastructure.
Thanks to the modular design of the Powerclick system, pipe supports can be easily repositioned and additional connections—such as cable trays—can be added as required. Inside the technical facility, pipework with smaller nominal diameters ranging from DN 6 to DN 50 was predominantly installed and supported using the Halfen Powerclick System 41. For outdoor applications, the Halfen Powerclick System 63 was used to support steam and condensate lines with nominal diameters of DN 150 and DN 200, which are routed from the pipe rack up to the 20‑meter‑high roof of the building.
To date, Leviat has supplied approximately 1,000 meters of channel for the project, along with accessories such as brackets and connectors.
