Brücke des 17. Juni
The Bridge of 17 June in Hamburg-Harburg is a 472 m long, riveted steel construction dating from 1937. A new gas pipeline runs in a straight line under the bridge structure. The brackets required for this were not allowed to be clamped or welded to the cross girders. The greatest challenge was therefore to find a flexible solution for connecting the bracket to the existing steel girder. The static calculation of the pipeline was carried out by the Hamburg engineering firm Grassl. High demands were also placed on the suspension with regard to deformation.
The support construction developed by Leviat ensures flexibility in both horizontal and vertical directions. Construction tolerances can be easily compensated for and time-consuming measurements on site could be dispensed with. Expensive and time-consuming adjustment of the brackets on site is thus avoided. Due to the easy handling of the system, the installation was quick and problem-free.
Leviat's assistance included the development of a flexible connection to the cross beam without welding and, in this particular case, the preparation of overview and implementation plans for the HALFEN components as well as assembly instructions. The verifiable static calculation of the bracket was prepared by the Grassl engineering office in cooperation with the Leviat engineers. The quick assembly and flexibility on site were just as convincing as the safety offered through verifiability.
