German Pavilion Expo 2015
HALFEN DETAN Tension and Compression Rod System - German Pavilion at Expo Milano 2015.
The EXPO Milano has officially opened its doors May 1st, 2015. The compelling motto of the EXPO this year is “Feeding the Planet, Energy for Life”. The focus of the German Pavilion is the significant environment protection, energy trends and the challenge of food supply in the future.
The German pavilion reflects German field and flora landscapes in extraordinary architecture.
The HALFEN Tension and compression rod system within the construction of the German pavilion meets the highest aesthetic, technology and quality standards. The filigree construction made up of tension and compression rods represents function and aesthetics equally and is integrated with harmony and unimposing within the architecture.
The following systems were installed into the steel stress, shell and stage:
207 pcs tension rod systems with forks Ø10 to Ø30, hot dip galvanized with average length of 2800 mm 99 pcs compression rods systems 60,3 x 2,9, 76,1 x2,9, 88,9 x 3,2 and 114,3 x 3,6 mm, mill finish with average length of 2200 mm.
In addition to the standard compression rod systems with forks on both sides, Leviat also supplied specially designed constructions with one side fork, welded to the steel construction.
The resulting design is painted in white in a filigree structure of steel tubes and rods covered with white fabric forming a “canopy of leaves”.
