Diamond Tower

Diamond Tower is the third skyscraper height of the new Porta Nuova great project inserted in downtown Milan. The 140 meter high skyscraper, has a shape reminiscent of a faceted diamond, is located between Viale della Liberazione and Via Galilei. The main tower is related by a series of low bodies, called small diamonds poses as a continuity element to the skyscraper. The use of the building is mixed and it is the tallest building with steel supporting structure. AArchitectural design by Kohn Pederson Fox Associates (KPF). Main characteristic of the tower is its irregular geometry, perimeter columns of the building are inclined with respect to the vertical. Internal layout is characterized by a central core, a solution used to maximize the natural light entry and allow a view of the city. One of the key objectives of the Porta Nuova project is to reduce drastically energy consumption, which will be equipped with the most recent energy supply systems based on the use of renewable sources. Diamond Tower is certified LEED GOLD.

HALFEN HDB provided systems for reinforced concrete structures, HUC systems for cranes and HFV anchoring systems for anchoring of concrete facades.
