HS2 High Speed Rail
HS2 High Speed Rail, UK HS2 is the high-speed railway running through the UK linking London to Birmingham and the North-West. It will serve over 25 stations, including eight of Britain’s 10 largest cities. By building a new railway line, HS2 will take fast trains off the existing rails and place them on to their own dedicated tracks.
HS2 will integrate with new lines and upgrades across Britain’s rail system to deliver faster travel to many towns and cities across Britain not directly on the HS2 route, including Liverpool, Sheffield, Leeds, Nottingham, Derby.
170 miles of new high-speed line is already under construction between Crewe and London. In total, over 250 miles of new high-speed line is planned across the country, including:
Over 330,000 stainless steel HALFEN DEMU Bolt Anchors 1988 from Leviat are required during the three-year precast program that will eventually produce over 112,000 segments. Our products are cast into the concrete to provide regular connection points along the tunnel, for temporary services such as power and ventilation during construction and to fix the brackets carrying permanent service cabling when the rail link is operational. For this application we developed a customized fixing pin which serves to attach the Bolt Anchor 1988 to the steel formwork.
