Theatre Mariinski II
The new Mariinsky II Theatre was officially opened on the 2nd of May 2013. It was designed by the Canadian architectural firm Diamond Schmitt Architects and is located in the heart of St. Petersburg, opposite the world-famous Mariinsky Opera and Ballet House. The Russian star conductor, Valery Gergiev, is the theatre’s Artistic and General Director. The hallmark of the Mariinsky II is its back-lit onyx interior walls that span 1,500 square metres encircling the concert hall over several levels in a cylindrical enclosure.
HALFEN supplied a special body-anchor type DT 1316 for fixing the onyx stones to the metal sub-structure.
